Penamacor : Michelin's recommendations
Perched 600 m above sea level, the Roman town is topped by its castle which was built in 1202 by Sancho I, of which, only the keep and a few wall sections remain. In addition to panoramic views over the plain and surrounding hills, old Penamacor, with its lanes, is a lovely place for a walk.
