This is an isthmus 2 km long whose coasts are formed of rugged rock faces forming foliated tabular stacks. It is worth returning to visit Papoa, a small isthmus studied with spurs on the cape, which has largely preserved a mill and the ruins of the fort which was the northern match for the citadel at Peniche... Some steps lead up to a promontory from which you can look down on the high cliffs and the rock below.
