This Baroque church built between 1735 and 1748 by the architect Nasoni, dominates the busy street of the same name. It is looked down on by the 75.50m high tower, the most well-known monument in Porto, which used to serve as a guide for the ships. From the top there is a panoramic view extending over the town, the cathedral, the Douro and the wine stores.
