On a high plateau covered in a forest of pine and eucalyptus, Santo da Serra is a holiday spot popular with the residents of Funchal. It has good golf courses, and a restful and cool climate. In the central square, you must visit the quinta da Junta park, the former home of the Blandy family. At the end of the main street, bordered by azalea, magnolia and camellia, a belvedere overlooks the Machico valley.
