Palacio Nacional de Queluz : Michelin's recommendations
When visiting this palace, you go through rooms decorated with furniture and objects reminding you that Queluz is also a museum of the Decorative Arts. The sumptuous Throne room, recalls the Window Gallery at Versailles, with its false doors decorated with glass. Also admire the ceilings in the music room and the princesses' rooms. The Azulejos room owes its name to the magnificent multicoloured azulejos from the 18C depicting the countryside of China and Brazil. In the Ambassadors room, decorated with marble and glass, you will see a painted ceiling showing a music concert at the court of King Joseph and several mythological motifs. Then having crossed the Queen's boudoir in the French rockwork style, you enter Don Quixote's room in which eight columns support a circular ceiling. In the refectory room, adorned with gilded wood, you can see some 18C pictures recalling royal picnics.
