On top of the mound which dominates the town, the 12C walls enclose the buildings of the Convent of Christ whose construction lasted from the 12C to the 17C. This is a veritable museum of Portuguese architecture where the Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline and Renaissance styles mingle. In the surrounding walls, you will pass through a garden of trimmed box before you reach the convent.
