Travanca : Michelin's recommendations

Situated 18km from Amarante on the Porto road, Travanca has a 12C church, located in the heart of a valley. Of granite construction, it used to be part of an ancient Benedictine monastery. The historiated capitals which decorate the portals and its arch are remarkable. On the left side of the church, a crenellated tower with a machicolation is accessed by a simply decorated portal. The old monastery itself is no longer in use.
