On the military airfield, a hangar houses the Museum of the Air (Museu do Ar). This recalls the aerial past of Portugal through photos, archive documents and above all in showing some authentic old aircraft and some replicas such as those of Blériot XI, Demoiselle XX (1908) of Santos-Dumont or the seaplane Santa Cruz (1920) which was the first to cross the South Atlantic.
