Madeira Island is visited year-round by several species of dolphins and whales. Observe a variety of cetaceans after departing from Caniçal marina on the eastern tip of the island. Look for some bird activity above the water—that's a telltale sign indicating whales and dolphins below. Listen to your guides identifying the different species of dolphins, whales, and seabirds, and check out the amazing rock formations off the coast. Ride on a 36-foot (11-meter) rigid inflatable boat with 12 passengers and two crewmembers; the boat allows quick and easy access to prime viewing spots.
