Saint-Benoit : Michelin's recommendations

Long isolated and difficult to reach, the city stretches out at the end of the Route des Plaines. A dynamic commercial town that is now the economic capital of the East, Saint-Benoît has risen to become a sub-prefecture of Réunion. The old town centre, destroyed by a huge fire in 1950, has nothing left of interest other than the few typical-looking shops that are still standing. The surrounding area is worth a visit, however, for its excellent excursions.
