After passing Cap de la Marianne and crossing Cap La Houssaye, you reach Boucan-Canot beach, considered the finest in La Réunion. Along with the Roches beaches in Saint-Gilles, it is the only beach where the water gets deep quickly. People like to scuba dive, surf and bodyboard (known as morey) here. People from Saint-Denis come on weekends, forming an endless parade of cars and motorcycles on the narrow (one-way) coast road, and stopping at one of the snack bars for bouchons and samosas, a cool beer or a glass of guava juice.
