Chapelle Pointue : Michelin's recommendations

To round off your trip to Villèle Museum, don't miss the Chapelle Pointue, a chapel standing on the other side of the road on a hillside of eucalyptus trees. It was built as of 1841 at Mrs. Desbassyns' request, for her slaves and neighbours, and has been the repository for her tombstone since 1866. The building owes its name to the tall, elegant roof with a lovely dome. The restored chapel has regained its neo-Gothic decor, which it lost in the 1932 cyclone that nearly destroyed the whole place.
