Only accessible by foot, the pristine landscapes of the Mafate cirque are the exclusive preserve of hikers. Its footpaths, which wend their way through small villages and hamlets and are still used today by local inhabitants, will reveal to intrepid travellers natural treasures full of surprises such as the plaine des Tamarins, rivière des Galets and the gouffre des Trois Roches, as well as more simple sights such as pastureland and flocks of animals.
