In the 19C, French architects left their mark on Bucharest, most notably among them Paul Gottereau, architect to the Romanian Crown, who built this imposing neo-Classical palace nicknamed the “little palace” on account of its similarity to the palace of the same name in Paris. Now housing a bank, admission is restricted, but the impressive dome may be admired equally well from outside.
