Established in the former Post Office (1900) in 1972, this museum has two major historical collections: the lapidarium, with plaster casts of metopes from the famous Trajan’s column in Rome; and the historic treasures, including goldware from the neolithic, Dacian and Brancovian periods. Note the “hen with golden chicks”, a sumptuous collection of 4C gold objects. Three rooms focus on the history of postage and Romanian philately.
