French visitors may find this building familiar; that’s because its architect, Ion Berindei, trained in Paris and used that city’s town hall as his model. Symbol of the town, this huge neo-Gothic building (1925) today houses four museums: history museum with Cucuteni painted ceramics (3500-3000 BC); ethnographic museum; technique museum with its musical instrument collection; and art museum with works by Romanian painters like Nicolae Grigorescu, Octav Bâncila, Camil Ressu and Gheorghe Vânâtoru.
