Lazarea (Gyergyószárhegy) : Michelin's recommendations
Lazarea is dominated by the silhouettes of its Franciscan monastery and Lazar castle. Their builder, Prince Itsvan IV Lazar, also gave his name to this Sicul village. Its surviving Renaissance-style buildings were well restored, and are home to an art and cultural centre, comprising an archaeological collection, art gallery, museum, plus a fine ethnographic exhibition on Sicul folk art in the courtyard.
