Mangalia : Michelin's recommendations

The ancient city of Callatis was founded by the Greeks in the 6C BC and is today Romania’s second port. Mangalia retains Byzantine and Greco-Roman remains (notably in the atrium of the Hotel President). The town’s history is explained at the Callatis archaeological museum. Note the Sultan Esmahan mosque in the town centre, a monument from the Ottoman period.
