It is close to this little fishing village that the River Danube finally runs into the Black Sea after its long journey. Although only accessible by boat, Sfântu Gheorghe has an astonishingly vibrant tourist sector, no doubt due to its pretty houses and indeed its almost Mediterranean feel.
