It was in the Church of St. Gregory of Neocaesarea (dedicated to Gregory Thaumaturgus), a beautiful bell tower church in a harmonious range of beige to blue-green shades, that Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich married Natalia Naryshkina. From their union was born the future Peter the Great, who was baptised here in 1672.
