The collections at the Polytechnic Museum originally came from an exhibition held in memory of Peter the Great, a great science enthusiast. The museum has naturally evolved since then, presenting technical advances such as the locomobile and the refrigerator, aviation and space conquest in fields ranging from transportation and metallurgy to astronautics and automation.
