Dormition Cathedral, built in the 12C, is the most famous building in Vladimir, where Dmitri Donskoy, Alexander Nevsky and all the great princes up to Ivan III were crowned. A UNESCO monument, its decor of gold, silver, precious stones and majolica tiles boasts remarkable frescoes by the great masters Andrei Rublev and Daniil Chernyi, including a Last Judgement full of serenity. Very beautiful 18C Baroque iconostasis.
