This is the oldest stone church in the monastery (1420), built over the tomb of the founder, Sergius of Radonezh. Many pilgrims press around the engraved silver reliquary containing the saint’s remains under a gleaming canopy. The cathedral’s greatest treasure is without a doubt its iconostasis decorated with 42 icons by Andrei Rublev and Daniil Chernyi.
