A cemetery (700 tombs) and a colony dating from the end of the Iron Age and early Viking period were to be found on this hill. Triangles of stones marked off the oldest tombs, while circles, ovals and boat shapes indicated the most recent. Bodies were incinerated with various objects, some of which date from the 15C. An interesting little museum gives an idea of life on the site through exhibits found during digs as well as reconstructions.
