The old centre for trade with Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Iceland, built in 1767, was superbly restored in 2003. This enormous building is multi-functional: diplomatic representations from Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and the Icelandic embassy are based here, as are several organisations connected with the people of these islands and their tourist offices. Exhibitions of works by artists from the North Atlantic region are organised on the ground floor, and the hall has a small shop selling arts and crafts and books.
