Nivå : Michelin's recommendations

This charming village of half-timbered, thatched houses is home to the very fine Nivågård painting collection. Assembled by a rich landowner, Johannes Hage, and presented in a modern brick building in front of the family manor, it includes many works by Dutch and Flemish masters (Van Ostade, Van Goyen, David Teniers, Jan Steen) and Italian masters (Bellini, Titian, Lorenzo Lotto). Also of note is the only French painting, a Flight into Egypt by Claude Lorrain.
