Stege Travel guide
Stege : Michelin's recommendations
The island's main town is the only one in Denmark whose medieval moat and ramparts are still in a good state - one of the three fortified gates, mølleporten, remains. Near Mølleporten, at no 75 Storegade, Empiregården, an old merchant's house, contains Møns Museum (Møns Museet), where visitors can see a collection of prehistoric objects. Set back from the market square (Torvet) is the Gothic church, built in the 13C, extended in the 15C and decorated with fine frescoes with floral motifs.
