Viborg : Michelin's recommendations

Situated in North Jutland, in the heart of an undulating region dotted with lakes and dark forests, this peaceful provincial town that looks over two beautiful lakes is one of Denmark's oldest towns. It was one of the most important dioceses in Denmark, as suggested by the magnificent cathedral, which was built on a 12C Romanesque sanctuary. Throughout the Middle Ages it was customary to appoint the new king in Viborg. The Local History Museum provides an introduction to the city's history through its exhibition of everyday and religious objects.
