This magnificent fjord, accessible from Bergen or Stavanger, is located far inland toward the northeast and covers a distance of 179km, dividing into several branches. Near the coast it is wide and open and lined with picturesque orchards and prairies before narrowing and becoming wilder as it moves into the mountainous regions. Visit the villages of Skånevik, Odda, Lofthus, Kinsarvik, Eidfjord, Ulvik and Norheimsund along the tourist routes.
