Rosenkrantz Tower Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

This defensive and residential tower is named after Erik Rosenkrantz, governor of Bergen Castle around 1560. It was built by the Scots alongside a keep dating from 1270 and external entrenchments dating from 1520. On the south side, the building has a Renaissance façade with a tower crowned by a cupola. The Chapel of King Magnus Lagabøte (legislator) is on the second floor of the keep. The king's chamber above became an elegant reception hall in the 17C. Canons can be seen at the top of the tower. The battlements offer magnificent views over the town.
