Lillehammer : Michelin's recommendations

This pleasant little hillside town on Lake Mjøsa at one end of the stunning Gudbrandsdalen valley was put under the world’s spotlights when it hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics. Whether or not you are a winter sports fan, Lillehammer’s mix of tradition (wooden houses) and modernity and its lively nightlife make it a good holiday destination. A major women’s cross-country skiing race and the Birkebeiner ski marathon, commemorating a historic event, are held here each year.
