Kon-Tiki Museum Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Thor Heyerdahl (1914-2002) differed from Verdrup, Amundsen and Nansen by not seeking to reach new unexplored lands, but rather to rediscover the routes of ancient peoples. This museum recalls his voyages: the Kon-Tiki expedition from Peru to Polynesia to prove that the Polynesians were of South American descent; and the Ra II expedition from Morocco to Barbados to demonstrate that the Egyptians could have crossed the Atlantic.

    Pros

Fine display and most interesting - almost inconceivable that this craft could ravel the Pacific. Good gentle slopes for wheelchairs.
