The foundry located on Malmplassen, a vast open court where mineral loads arrived, is a replica of the original building (19C), which was destroyed by a fire. Since its closure in 1977, it has been given over to a museum - the Smelthytta Museum - where techniques of extraction and melting copper are illustrated with magnificent hand-made models. Across the Hyttelva, five small wooden miners' houses are also part of the museum.
