On a hill overlooking Hadsel Fjord, this octagonal red church (1824), rarely open, still has a sculpted polychrome altarpiece dating from 1520 and a 12C chandelier. The cemetery lends a peaceful atmosphere to the site, which is well worth exploring, if only for the view over the rocky barrier of the Lofotveggen, which takes on a magical allure when wreathed in a halo of mist.
