Beyond Tromsø Airport, a bridge crosses the strait between Tromsøya and Kvaløya. Turn left onto Rv 863 and the road will take you past superb landscapes allying sea and mountain and dotted with fishermen's huts on piles. A bridge leads to Sommarøy, where you will find yourself facing the open sea in a hamlet at the end of the earth, in a truly grandiose setting. To get back you can follow the road that runs alongside first a fjord then a valley as far as Eidkjosen.
