The seamen's tower stands 49 m high next to the Maritime Museum. On the top is a statue of a seaman's wife waiting patiently. (Woman on the shore), created in memory of the sailors who died in the First World War. The entrance is opposite the river, and a spiral staircase of 192 steps (or a lift for the short of breath) leads up to a superb view of the city and the port.
