Kungsportsavenyn, known as "Avenyn", runs straight for 1 km from the Rosemunds-kanalen to the Götaplatsen, dominated by the fountain of Poséidon by Carl Milles (1927), a highly evocative symbol of a city devoted to the sea. This tree-lined avenue full of cafés and restaurants is very popular.
