Cathedral Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

This sandstone church flanked by two towers was founded in the 11C by King Canut II and consecrated in 1145. The original layout is of Anglo-Norman inspiration, while the decor shows a Lombard influence. The apse is a Romanesque treasure. Inside, you can admire the astronomical clock (14C), the marble and alabaster Renaissance pulpit (1952) and the Gothic choir stalls (14C). Stained-glass windows (1930) decorated the apse and transept, and a mosaic by J Skovgaard (1925) embellishes the vault of the apse. The ornaments in the crypt illustrate the legend of Finn the Giant.
