The site where the town originally stood became an open-air museum in 1945. You can visit the pretty Margaretakapellet Chapel and see its bell next to the riverbank. The Hunting Museum (Jaktmuseet) next to the car park houses a fine collection of sculptures on wood by Sami (Lapp) artists (first floor). The Forestry Museum (Skogsmuseet) illustrates the taxing physical effort necessary to cut down trees and saw them into logs. Ruselegården is a typical little café.
