King Gustav VI Adolph was a great amateur of oriental art, and he left a large collection to the museum's already impressive exhibition of works brought from the Far East by the Swedish India Company. The museum occupies a long narrow building (the former arsenal) and contains collections of art and antiques from China, Japan, Korea and India, dating from the Stone Age to the end of the 19 C.
