This archaeological site represents the original Uppsala. It comprises of three Royal burial mounds and that of the Assembly (to the east), which is very eroded, as well as 250 to 300 tombs. These are the only ones to have survived from all the burial mounds of chiefs and princes of the Ynglinga dynasty (pre-dating Viking times).
