Linnéträdgården Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The residence of Carl von Linné (1707-1778), who initiated our system of plant classification, is now a museum adjoining its own botanical garden with 1 600 plant varieties. On either side of the central avenue, annual plants and perennials are divided into 44 parterres according to the system devised by Linné. When he became professor of medecin and botany in 1741, he persuaded the university of the necessity to extend the garden and build the orangery, which was designed by Carl Hårleman.
