Opened in 1989, this unique museum is dedicated to the cultural heritage of the Sami (Lapp) people and their environment (mountains, forests, rivers). The presentation of the collections is as important as the exhibits themselves. There is an open-air presentation on the habitat and surrounding plant life. The spotlight then focuses on the Sami themselves, from historical, cultural and ecological angles. The alpine garden gives an overview of the Alpine plants and the mountain environment.
