Three wooden buildings painted white and decorated with gables stand on the banks of the Bäveån, at the mouth of Byfjorden. Within the spacious interiors are temporary exhibitions and photos relating to the history of Bohuslän province, and an exhibition dedicated to its natural environment. A series of paintings evokes the lives of fishermen, farmers and labourers - particularly quarrymen - over the centuries, and another area is given over to contemporary culture and art.
