Cathedral Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Construction began circa 1270 and the cathedral was consecrated in 1435. It has a simple layout, devised by Étienne de Bonneuil, the Parisian in charge of construction, who is responsible for the High Gothic style. The building contains fine tapestries, a Baroque pulpit (1710), the gravestones of St Brigitte, Gustav Vasa, Emanuel Swedenborg and Carl von Linné, and of course St Erik's vermeil reliquary (1579), patron saint of Sweden. Kings were crowned in the Coronation Vault.
