The largest fort on the island dates from 400 or 500. Its immense ramparts, 6m high and 11m thick, form a circle with a circumference of 640m and a diameter of 200m. The ruins of a chapel dating from 1200 are visible to the north of the fort. The arch of a door is the only vestige of the late 13C fortifications.
