The traditions of "parish villages" live on here, and the houses are still inhabited by parishioners during religious festivals. The large medieval church is of late Scandinavian Gothic style (15C) with a richly decorated interior. The prettiest houses are to be found in the area southwest of the church. The humble artisan and workers' houses, wedged against each other, stand next to the opulent-looking houses of the rich citizens, which left little room for the little parish houses and stables.
