Kaolack, a crossroads on the banks of the Saloum River, is famous for its large market where you can mingle with the crowds of people stocking up on a wide variety of goods. Also of note: theGreat Mosque and, further along, the megaliths at Nioro du Rip, on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
