Grand'Anse, on the southern coast of La Digue at the end of the cross-country road from Union Estate, is the largest and not the least magnificent of the island’s beaches. There’s no coral reef to provide shelter here, so caution should be exercised when swimming, particularly from June to September when the waves come crashing down.
