Boats dock on the West coast of the island of La Digue, in the village of La Passe which, along with Anse la Réunion, accounts for the 2,000 or so inhabitants on this 10 km² island. Most of the land is occupied by the granite massif of Piton de la Digue (333 m). This is a tranquil environment that can be explored on foot, on a bicycle or in an oxcart as you meet the locals, especially fishermen, observe the flycatchers in La Veuve reserve, or just enjoy heavenly Anse Source d’Argent.
